Shalom Fam. We just got into winter, but we should be thinking ahead. We should be thinking about spring and the food we’re going to grow because if you stay ready, you ain’t got to get ready.
I’m talking about being intentional. If you fail to properly prepare for the next growing season, you aren't going to grow food. It’s been growing seasons where we were behind the eight ball because we were just going with the flow, and we paid for it. Like I always say: proper preparation prevents poor performance.
Let's Start Prepping For Spring Now

Here is what you need to be doing right now while you’re "on deck" for spring:
Order your birds now: We just ordered about 30 meat chickens,a newer breed called White Rangers. If you want meat birds, turkeys, or hatching eggs for the spring, you gotta order those months in advance from places like Meyer Hatchery or McMurray Hatchery. They sell out fast, and if you wait until March, you might not get availability until May.
Map out your garden: I’m already planning my 2026 spring garden. Decide what you want to grow, tomatoes, peppers, okra, and how you’re going to grow it, whether it's raised beds or direct sew.
Build your infrastructure: Do the work that needs to be done right now, while you don't have to worry about pulling weeds. Clear your land, build your trellises, or fix up your livestock areas for your goats and lambs.
Get your library right: ,Don't just depend on the internet because the digital grid may go down. Get physical books like Back to the Basics so you have that knowledge on hand no matter what.
We pray for abundance, but if you don't make a plan for it, it’ll never happen. You can't just fly by the seat of your pants and expect to be successful. Write it down, organize it, and be ready to jump into the game, laced up.
