What’s going on, everybody? Shalom. Peace and blessings. Hope y’all are doing well today. I got a quick word for you. Nothing long, just something real I’ve been thinking about and felt led to share.

So listen up: don’t worry about what you can’t control. Just do your best.

We Worry About Too Much

Don’t Worry About What You Can’t Control

We live in a world full of things to stress about: bills, jobs, the economy, the news, even what folks are doing on social media. It’s endless. I get it. I’ve been there. I used to worry so much I couldn’t even be productive. I’d sit at work with some bad news in my head, and the rest of that day was gone because my mind was somewhere else. Worry will rob you of your peace and your productivity.

Control What You Can, Let Go of What You Can’t

Here’s what I want you to understand: there’s stuff you can control, and there’s stuff you can’t. You can control your effort. You can control your planning. You can control the work you put in and how you show up.

But you cannot control the outcome, the increase, the yield, the weather, or how other people respond. That’s beyond you. There’s a scripture that says, “One plants, another waters, but God gives the increase.” That verse has helped me more times than I can count.

You do your part.  Till the land, plant the seed, water it, maintain it, and then you trust. You put faith on top of your work.

Worry Is a Thief

Worry is sneaky. It creeps in when your mind is idle. If you sit around doing nothing, those negative thoughts will start to take over. That’s why I always tell folks: stay productive. Move your body. Do something constructive.

If you’re on the homestead, tend the garden. If you’re working a job, do the task in front of you right now. An idle mind is the enemy’s playground. Keep your hands busy and your heart calm.

Worry Doesn’t Change Anything

Let’s be honest, worrying doesn’t fix the problem. It just drains your strength.

I remember when layoffs were happening where I worked. I feared for my job and stressed so much that I hardly got anything done. Worry took my focus away from the very things that could’ve helped me prepare.

Instead of feeding the fear, use that time to be proactive. Save a little money. Build a new skill. Plant something that feeds you. Even one small step forward is better than sitting still in worry.

Panic Will Get You Hurt

When chaos hits, panicking never helps. Think about being caught in a rip current. If you fight the water, you’ll wear yourself out. If you calm down and work with the current, you’ll make it back to shore.

Same with life. When things go sideways- storms, setbacks, sickness- don’t panic. Breathe. Assess. Make a plan. Solve one problem at a time.

Panic gets you nowhere. Calm gets you thinking.

Faith Over Fear

Worry is basically saying, “I don’t trust God.” And that’s not what He called us to walk in. Scripture says He didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of faith, boldness, and a sound mind.

So when worry knocks at your door, remember who’s really in control. You’ve done your part. You’ve worked. You’ve prayed. Now trust Him with the rest. That doesn’t mean stop doing your work; it just means stop letting fear drive you while you do it.

Practical Habits That Help

If your mind keeps spinning with things you can’t change, anchor yourself with structure.

Make a list for the day. Set a simple plan for the week. Start a budget. Stick to a small daily routine. Structure keeps worry from taking over.

And when you’re mentally tired, do something that grounds you. Go outside, walk, fish, stretch, or call a friend. When your mind’s active in a healthy way, anxiety loses its grip.

Most of What You Fear Never Happens

Nine times out of ten, the worst-case scenario your brain invents never even shows up. Worry builds fake problems that never existed.

Stop wasting energy on imaginary disasters. Put that energy into something real, something that moves your life forward.

Turn Worry into Action

If you feel stuck, here’s the fix: Pick one thing you can actually do today.

  • Plant something.

  • Clean something.

  • Repair something.

  • Call somebody.

  • Do one small, tangible action that moves you forward.

That’s how you take back control — not by worrying, but by working.

Gratitude Changes Everything

Gratitude breaks worry every time. When you start counting blessings instead of problems, peace shows up. Right now, name three things you’re thankful for. Say them out loud. Feel the shift in your spirit. It’s hard to worry and be grateful at the same time.

Worry Doesn’t Produce Results: Work Does

You can’t worry your way into success. Worry produces nothing. Work produces results. Do your due diligence. Plan your week. Put in the sweat. Then rest in what you’ve done. Once you’ve done your part, the rest isn’t on you; it’s on God.

You’re Doing Better Than You Think

Don’t beat yourself up for feeling anxious sometimes. You’re human. Even strong people get tired. Even faithful people worry sometimes.

But don’t stay there. Shift that energy. Replace fear with action. Replace panic with planning. Replace doubt with prayer.

Final Word: Just Do Your Best

So that’s my quick word for you today. Do your best. Plan well. Work hard. Stay faithful.

And once you’ve done all you can, let go of what you can’t control. Don’t waste another day stressing about things beyond your reach. Use that time to plant, build, grow, and prepare.

Because the truth is, you’re doing better than you think you are. Keep showing up. Keep going. Keep getting one percent better every day.
