Transparent moment loading… I always come to y’all from a position of victory, and while this isn’t a day of defeat, I am PRESSING through.

As a coach, consultant, homesteader, and entrepreneur, I walk the road with my clients, just as I walk the land God has given me—planting, pruning, and trusting Him for the harvest. Whatever they go through, I’m right there in prayer, fasting, struggle, and triumph.

Homesteading Guide for the Faith-Led Life

Faith is the foundation of my work and my homesteading journey. I know that just as I sow seeds into the earth, I must also release my burdens into the hands of the Lord. This moment became a personal page in my homesteading guide—one written with prayer, perseverance, and trust.

But somewhere along the way, I held onto something I should have surrendered. Like an overripe crop left too long in the field, it crept up on me, weighed me down, and threatened to spoil the goodness God was cultivating. But here’s the part where it’s not all doom and gloom: I triumphed. I know you will agree…God always comes through when we trust Him.

When I Sensed the Attack…

Homesteading Guide

Just like a storm rolling in unexpectedly over the fields, I felt the weight of spiritual resistance. But God never intends for us to bear the burden alone. I reached out to my trusted circle—my prayer warriors and my husband. Their prayers surrounded me like a shelter in the storm, and my husband spoke truth into me. Did I love everything he had to say? Nope. But I received it with grace and pressed on. Honestly, pressing on felt like tending to animals or crops when you are feeling exhausted. That’s no fun.

I woke up the next morning still heavy, but instead of despair, I turned straight to prayer. In the same way that a farmer rises before dawn to tend to the land, I put in due diligence in going to the Lord in prayer. I stay in His Word because our faith is a garden that needs daily tending. And right now? I need prayer more than ever.

Prayer is a Righteous Release—It’s Like Preparing the Soil

Homesteading Guide

I consider myself an avid prayer farmer (if that’s a thing—I’m making it a thing). Sometimes, talking to people can only go so far. Encouragement and strategy have their place, but when the weight feels unbearable, it’s time to dig deep and seek the Lord directly. Even when you’re already locked in, know that there is always more. Prayer is making you good soil in readiness to receive God’s word when He speaks.

That’s the Concept Today: More

Homesteading Guide

You may be doing all the right things, sowing faithfully, praying, tithing, serving—but the attacks keep coming. It feels like the closer you draw to God, the harder life gets, right? I get it. I’m in it with you.

Amid these challenges, remember that tending your homestead, whether in spirit or soil, is an act of faith. For those growing their gardens, Vego Garden offers quality raised beds designed to help you steward the land well and cultivate your calling with care and intention

When you don’t know what else to do, pray. If you need to cry……cry but pray while you cry. Keep the Word ON—play it, read it, and meditate on it. For me, journaling feels impossible when I’m overwhelmed, so I turn my words into prayers. That’s my verbal journaling, my pouring out to God.

I just want to leave you with some scriptures that are feeding my soul in this season:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 (NIV)

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 (NIV)

The weight of building a homestead can be overwhelming, not to mention the burdens of life that come along with it. But remember, God is the ultimate gardener. He is cultivating something good in you, even when the weight feels unbearable. Keep tending to your faith, keep trusting the process, and keep pressing forward. Because He’s got you!
