The Dirty Secret: They’re Selling Us Expired Junk for Profit

What's going on, everybody? I want to tell y'all something I thought about this morning. It’s a true story, and it happened recently. They say, "When people show you who they are, believe them."
I was craving some of those Little Debbie donuts, the glazed or powdered ones. I went to the corner store up the street to grab some. I found the powdered flavor, but they were kind of smooshed. I checked the expiration date, and man, these things were like three months expired!
I walked toward the register, then turned around and put them back. The cashier saw me and asked what was wrong. I told him, "This is expired". He read it and acted like he didn't know.
The Unnatural Shelf Life

Two major things came to mind out of that experience. The first is about the food itself: these super-processed foods have a shelf life that is longer than normal, and it is not natural.
Think about what that is doing inside of you. These things we are consuming can literally sit on the shelves for years at a time without decomposing, without breaking down, and without bugs coming to eat them. That’s because the compounds in the chemicals that go into these things are not made for human consumption, but they are still sold to us as food. Real food decomposes over time; fake food won't. It might taste like food and smell like food, but it’s not real food, and it’s going to be harmful down the line.
The Kicker: Greed Above Health
Now, this is the kicker to the story. I went back to that store about a week or two later because I was still craving those donuts. I saw the same pack of donuts I had shown the cashier, the smooshed pack with the same expiration date, right back on the shelf.
This guy literally acted like he was going to take them off the shelf because they were expired, and then he put them right back out to sell to our community. That is the second thing I learned: just how greedy people are and how much they truly don't care about the well-being of the people. They are willing to put expired food out, even though the fake food already has an expiration date indicating it must be thrown out.
This is happening at the small corner store level, so just imagine what's happening up in the higher echelons and in the bigger corporations, the corners they cut to make a profit off of our food source.
I remember growing up in the inner city, we had corner stores where we’d buy snacks and chips,. Those stores were willing to chastise and brutalize kids, sometimes putting their hands on them, over stealing food that was already expired and no good for u. That lets you know the greed when it comes to our food source.
Take Back Your Food Source
That pack of expired donuts and that whole lesson encouraged me more and more to say: Hey, you need to start making your own snacks. You can make donuts at home, and guess what? You have resources like YouTube and the internet to help you learn how to make a lot of these things from scratch.
It is important to take your food seriously and grow your food. It's important to have a connection with your food, do your due diligence, and read the ingredients you're putting inside your body. Your body is your temple, and you only get one.
This experience should open your eyes to the fact that it is time to get back to the land and become self-sufficient.
With that being said, man, like I always say: He who has the power to feed you also has the power to starve you.
